10/15/08 - Ew. I had PSATs today. Anyways so I've finished getting the side and top banners sorted out and now we need an image banner for the top. I urge everyone to enter the contest.
10/12/08 - The forum is created! Yeaaahhh. We already have five members (including myself and my sister; but I'm not complaining). We're getting all the important stuff down and enjoying every minute of it. Or well...I am at least. c:

Welcome:
Welcome to Vie de Château, an advanced/literate medieval human roleplay. The overarching plot is a battle between two kingdoms, those of Géant (of the North) and Épique (of the South). These kingdoms are the two separate halves of the island of Île which resides quite near Europe. Because of their remote locations, each kingdom is extremely small (as a Lord's "kingdom" from approximately the same time would've been) and contains only a single castle and one town. The infrastructure of each castle and town is very different from the other, in size and layout, but both are equally prosperous and have a similar population. They began as allies, the kings planning to marry their children and become one great kingdom. But when Épique's princess goes missing, it's king blames his neighbor. When war is waged, it will take a great amount of cunning and military precision for either side to win without plunging the entire island into an economic depression and doom them all.
Accueillir - [Welcome] (1 sub-board) Welcome to Vie de Château. When you arrive, please register and introduce yourself here, before continuing with the joining process. We'd love to hear about you. Moderator: Stellatum
Règles - [Rules] Once you register and introduce yourself, please come and read these rules completely. This is an innovative and in-depth roleplay and the rules are important (if I bit dubious).
Kingdom Épique (1 sub-board) Épique is the Southern Kingdom. It is larger than that Géant, but has a less diverse populace and stricter monarchy. It's military is larger than that of Géant but less efficient, causing the two forces to be rather equal. Trade is exceptional in this area.
Falècion (3 sub-boards) Northern-most Earldom in Geant. The Northern edge of the isle is High peaked mountains, save for three openings. One is Ville Sur l'eau, a bustling port city. The other two are Naval ports, where military vessels are housed.
Royaume-Uni en Montagne (3 sub-boards) South-Eastern province of Gèant. It is home to the country’s desperately needed Farm-land. This land is majorily food storage facilities. It's surrounded by mountains, and has numerous military out-posts. The standing army is stationed in this province, and each town is walled and fortified.
L'étendue du Sud (2 sub-boards) A vast desert. Dotted with oases. Around each oasis a community has formed. Only two towns worth mentioning, and even then, they only just barely count as cities. This area serves as a natural boundary against invaders: It's very difficult to transverse this land in great numbers.

Weather:
Winter is approaching, and though during the day highs of 70 degrees are common, nightly temperatures plummet to nearly freezing. Frost coats the early-morning earth, and it is not a very prosperous time. Though disease is rare due to the high standards of sanitation, any illness that exists is rampant during this time. Armies are usually dormant and villagers tend to congregate and participate in tasks such as the making of fabric and the tanning of hides.
